Day One Competences are the minimum standard required and is the starting point for a variety of roles in the veterinary profession.

They have been formulated by the Coordination Committee for Veterinary Training (ECCVT) founded in 2004 by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation (EBVS) e the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE).
